2017 September Challenge: Back Where I Come From – Day 19

For more information on this challenge, click here.

19. Did you have any pets in your childhood home? If so, please tell me about them. If you have a photograph of any of your childhood pets, please share.

We had several dogs along the way when I was a little girl in Anderson. They all met with untimely deaths.  The first one that I remember was a tiny little dog named Spark Plug.  He was the color of the dirt in our driveway.  Daddy came in from work one day and didn’t see Spark Plug laying in the driveway sleeping and he ran over him.

After we moved to Starr, we only had cats.  One was named Calico and another was a black and white tuxedo kitty named Trouble. I don’t have any pictures of them.

  1. Pets play such an important part of a child's life. I'm sorry your pet's life ended the way it did.

    1. Thank you, Trudy. Poor little Spark Plug was the first of several that died very upsetting deaths, though, in reality, it would have been hard no matter how they passed away. Even though it wasn't Daddy's fault about running over him, I am sure that I was upset with Daddy for awhile afterwards.

  2. Ah yes, Trouble. I remember that cat well. I came to pick you up for a date. While I was waiting I picked him up and then found out he pooped on me. I love you, my Zing!

    1. It was a very sad day. I had never had nor lost a pet before Spark Plug. I believe I was younger than 5 years old when this happened.

Thanks for stopping by and commenting. Have a blessed day.
